Expertise

From its formation in 1992, Abbfab Services has developed a high level of skill and competency in the fabrication of pressure vessels and pipework, meeting clients high demands for compliance with their specifications and requirements. This level of skill is maintained by a continuous and comprehensive training programme, which is closely reviewed and updated to meet the expectations of customers.

The high integrity of the welding undertaken by our skilled workforce, is guaranteed to be qualified and performed to procedures satisfying the demands of the latest codes and client specifications. To assist in the delivery of the highest quality welds the Company has made both substantial investment in the latest welding technology and continuous improvement and qualification of its welders.

The expertise that the Company applies to all its projects is underpinned by their EN ISO 9001 Quality Management System, first granted in 2003 and maintained since that date and ensuring that all stages of a client's project are carried out to this standard, from receipt of order to final testing and dispatch.

The Company prides itself on its ability produce 'one-off' fabrications for clients, organising the design, drawing, testing and final certification, with on-going inspection and testing, to satisfy the requirements of design codes, being undertaken by independent companies such as British Engineering Services.

The Company also has dedicated site teams, comprising skilled supervisors and competent tradesmen who are able to undertake site installation work.

Capacity and Capabilities

Within our workshop, we can fabricate units up to twenty tonnes in weight, with a maximum diameter of 3.5 metres and a maximum length of 10 metres. Other fabrications can be manufactured to a maximum height of 4 metres.

The largest set of vessel rotators which the Company own are capable of handling 20 tonnes, with smaller sets available for handling smaller vessels.

The Company has a range of machinery for cutting, drilling and forming steel plate and has access to a supplier base of specialised sub-contractors for more complex processes, such as the forming of dished heads and rolling of vessel shell plates.

The Company has in place a comprehensive training programme to ensure that all its' workforce receive adequate training in a variety of skills to enable them to work effectively and safely, both in the workshop and on-site, for example confined space entry, use of Mobile Elevating Work Platforms (IPAF cards) erection and use of mobile access work platforms (PASMA cards) and training in working at height and safety harness awareness.
