Arrangements are now well advanced to ensure that both the Quality Management System (QMS) BS EN ISO 9001 and Environment Management System (EMS) BS EN ISO 14001 will be fully compliant with the new editions of the standards which have now been published.

ISO 9001:2015 has now been published and the transition from the 2008 version of the Standard to the 2015 version is now at an advanced stage, the existing QMS has been reviewed and revised as appropriate to ensure that it is compliant with the new edition and the surveillance audit by the external body is scheduled to take place in December 2017, well in advance of the deadline for conversion.

ISO 14001 is the most widely used Environmental Management Standard globally. The new, 2015 version of the standard has many significant changes that include requiring organisations to show greater commitment from top management; taking a life-cycle approach, and better utilising risk-based thinking, Abbfab Services are now in a position to have their EMS audited by the external body in late October 2017, again, well in advance of the deadline for conversion.

All Certified organisations will have until 30th September 2018 to transition to the 2015 version of the Standard.

The International Accreditation Forum (the international body which oversees national accreditation bodies) recommend that Organisations using ISO 9001:2008 and ISO 14001:2004 are recommended to take the following actions:

i) Identify organizational gaps which need to be addressed to meet new requirements.

ii) Develop an implementation plan.

iii) Provide appropriate training and awareness for all parties that have an impact on the effectiveness of the organisation.

iv) Update the existing management systems (QMS and EMS) to meet the revised requirements and provide verification of effectiveness.

v) Where applicable, liaise with their Certification Body for transition arrangements.

All the above actions have been addressed by the Company in prparation for the transition audits.

As soon as the new certificates are awarded by the certification body they will be made available for our customers to download from our website.
